National Workshop
The event attracted a diverse group of participants, including |19 students from Auxilium College & DKM College, Vellore and from our own department, alongside faculty members and professionals in the field. The collaborative environment fostered rich discussions and shared insights into the significance of psychological profiling. The session provided an overview of different types of psychological tests, their purposes, and their applications in personal and professional development & preparing once profile using these psychological tests. The MBTI framework was explored in detail, including its four dichotomies: Extraversion vs. Introversion, Sensing vs. Intuition, Thinking vs. Feeling, and Judging vs. Perceiving. Participants learned how to identify their own MBTI types and discussed the implications of these types in interpersonal relationships, career choices, and personal growth. The event featured interactive segments, allowing participants to take part in short quizzes to identify their MBTI types. Group discussions encouraged sharing of experiences and reflections on how understanding one’s psychological profile can lead to better self-awareness and improved communication with others. The participants were provided kit, refreshments & lunch for their active participants. The “Unveiling Yourself. Psychological Profiling” event was a valuable experience for all attendees, promoting deeper insights into individual personality dynamics and fostering a sense of community among participants from different institutions. The knowledge gained regarding psychological tests and the MBTI is expected to aid students and professionals in their personal and professional journeys.

Dr. S. Sasikala is working as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at University of Madras. She obtained her Doctoral degree from University of Madras. Her topic of Ph.D research is “Influence of Parental Expectations and other psychosocial determinants on Behaviour Problems of Adolescents”. She has a teaching experience of more than 18 years. She has been the research guide to many Postgraduate and M.Phil students and guiding Ph D research scholars. Four of her Ph.D candidates are awarded the degree recently. Her areas of interest include School Psychology, Social Psychology, Community Psychology and Tool Development. She has a passion for research and she has gained the Best Researcher Award, 2017 awarded by the University of Madras. She has also won Prof. Anima Sen Award for Best Paper published in the Journal of IAAP and Prof. KVK Kaliappan Memorial Award for the research carried out among rural community. She has to her credit the Best Paper awards for the research paper presented during the International and National Conference. She is highly interested in the field of Psychometrics and has developed various tools to measure important Psychological constructs and one of her tool on Perception of Parental Expectations Inventory is widely used by researchers in Asian Countries. She has presented and published more than 40 research articles in reputed journals over the span of her career. She is an editorial board member and reviewer of international and national journal. She has also engraved her name in the field of training by providing Social Skills Training, Life skills training, Study Skills Training, Self-esteem training, Emotional Management, etc., to both students and teachers of schools and colleges. She has provided study skills training to many higher secondary teachers (roughly 350) working for the Government of Tamilnadu, India during December 2020 to February 2021. Additional feather to her cap include being invited as resource person at the UGC-HRDC centre. She has been invited as a chief guest in many Regional and National level conferences. She is a member in Professional association such as American Psychological Association, Indian Academy of Applied Psychology and Indian School Psychology Association. She is a member of Board of Studies and Academic Audit at various Universities and educational institutions. She spends most of her time updating herself on the recent developments in the field of research and by contributing her share to the same.
